JANE EYRE (2024)
"Director Ali Bendall also wrote this adaptation, and it is an absolute joy; fresh and imaginative while still preserving the essence of Brontë’s original novel. Bendall has reduced a very dense story into a dramatic work whose central characters have depth and a full arc, and whose narrative is epic but not burdensome." - Rita Bratovich, City Hub
“Turns Out, There is joy in Jane Eyre. A superbly staged production with a cast worthy of an invitation to The National Theatre London for their outstanding performances. Ali Bendall, the director, has done it again.” - Renee, Bourgeoise Bloomers
"Bendall has crafted a captivating production that resonates on many levels. This inventive adaptation is a triumph, balancing atmosphere, humour, and heart, ensuring a moving and thoroughly entertaining – thoroughly romantic experience." Faith Jessel, Fourth Wall Reviews
"Bendall’s direction is spot on. The characters are credible and interact well with each other; the comedy is perfectly delivered; the ensemble pieces are well choreographed." - Rita Bratovich, City Hub
"A brilliant, director, cast and crew and a brilliant farewell production to the little Church/Theatre in Kent Street.” - Renee, Bourgeoise Bloomers
STEEL MAGNOLIAS (2023)
"Genesian’s theatre director Ali Bendall has brought together a wonderful cast…
Every detail in this production makes the whole meld together neatly, from the 1980s pop sound track designed by Mehran Mortezaei, the colourful costumes by Genesian’s long-time costume designer Susan Carveth and the detailed set by Ali Bendall and Tom Fahy – everything from the colour of the hairdressing tools to the period-appropriate hairspray brands were carefully researched and presented." 4* Sydney Arts Guide - Steel Magnolias 2023
“The five piece ensemble performs passionately, clearly loving what they are doing. The big production numbers are exciting, energetically sung, and well-choreographed, while the intimate character ballads are atmospheric and moving.”
4 * for West End at the Fringe – Three Week Review.
OUR HOUSE (2015)
“The musical based on the music of Madness was an entertaining and enthralling night out. Given the weather was awful the brave souls who ventured out were rewarded by a lively and energetic show with strong principles and a supportive chorus that really added to the overall impact. Alice Bendall clearly had a good vision for the show and developed this as both director and choreographer. Good use of the stage space and the talent available was moulded by here into an impressive whole. The dancing being aided by a superb dance captain in Aimee Bevan was a strong part of the shows visual impact.”
